IT IS SAFE TO CARRY MOBILE IN YOUR POCKET ?

INTRO

Mobile phones and tablets have become the most effective communication tools especially in metropolitan cities. Exposure of the general population to radiofrequency (RF) fields from mobile phones and other communication tools has become universal and continuous in recent years. The number of mobile phone users has gone up to 5 billion in a world of 7.4 billion. Development of using mobile phones has increased concerns about the safety of health, in recent years. The studies reflected public concerns about childhood and adult cancers. The possibility that some individuals experience hypersensitivity or other symptoms in response to mobile exposure was a high priority for research.

Cell Phone Radiation Affects Sperm Quality

To arrive at their findings, researchers collected semen samples from 32 men and divided each man's sample into two parts. They placed half of the semen samples 2.5 centimeters away from a 850 MHz frequency cell phone in talk mode for one hour. Most cell phones used in the U.S. are 850-900 MHz. They chose this distance because it is the typical distance between the testes and the trouser pockets.

There are multiple studies that indicate that carrying a cell phone in close distance between the hearts disrupts the rhythm of the pulse rate. RF radiation from the phone increases the variability in heart rate (HRV). It also effects the nervous system. When we are placing the cell phone under the bra or shirt pocket, we are risking higher exposure to microwave radiation from cell phones to our heart and nervous system.

Cell Phones Emit Dangerous EMF Radiation

The World Health Organization lists this type of radiation as a Class 2B Carcinogen. And in 2018, the US National Toxicology Program’s (NTP) $30M study found  that mobile phone radiation led to an increased rate of cancer and genetic damage in mice.

So yes, exposure to cell phone radiation is a health risk. (And the risks of exposure to your cell phone’s dangerous radiation are separate from the risks that your phone can expload in your pocket.

Owning a cell phone is a fact of life for most of us, but the convenience of having a world of information at our fingertips comes at a price. We work after we're done working. We're reachable around the clock. Sometimes it seems like we're always on call. And your iPhone isn't just inundating you with post-work emails from work. It's also having negative effects on your health.

Negative Effects of Mobile Radiation on Skin

Love thy Skin? Keep your Cell Phones Away!

1. Dermatitis

Well, the negative effects of cell phone radiation on your skin are many but have you ever felt a dry patch and itching on your hands or your face? It could well be mobile phone radiation effects on your skin, thanks to those two-hour long conversations you’ve been having with someone or the other every day. Mobile radiation elevates antigens in people who already suffer from some form of allergies. Another reason for cell phone dermatitis – well, that’s what it’s called – could be the use of nickel and cobalt in the phone trimmings. These metals combined with the radiations are making your skin red and itchy. Ouch!

2. Crow’s feet

Squinting to read your favorite blog on your phone at night while lulling your baby to sleep? You may well be saying an early hello to crow’s feet. The small fonts and the low brightness of the phone screen together make you squint, in turn leading to wrinkles around the eyes. If your phone doubles up as your mini workstation, ensure to keep the brightness high and the fonts big.

3. Hot, hot, hot

Have you noticed how hot your cell phone gets after those late into the night calls with your best friend? Using it in this “hot” condition is akin to baking your skin. Really! The cell phone health risks are many. However, the exposure to this much heat can increase melanin production in the skin. This can give you uneven skin tone and even dark spots all over the face. Opt for the hands-free option to keep such nauseating effects of cell phone radiation at bay.

4. Clean and clear

You never thought you might have to face the scourge of acne after those teenage years, did you? Well, you’re in for a rude shock. Cell phones are considered to be more unhygienic (carry more germs) than public toilets. Imagine putting your face against all those germs and bacteria. Worse still, imagine exposing your little one to all that infestation! Make sure you clean your phone regularly, put it in a cover, and use it with clean hands.

5. Wrinkled neck

Admit it; you’re constantly looking down on your phone to read a new email, check a notification, or to purge your phone gallery. This constant staring gradually breaks down the collagen in the neck. This leads to unsightly neck wrinkles and diminished confidence. You can avoid all this by holding the phone at eye level and reading with your chin up.

Negative Effects of Mobile Radiation on the Body

Mobile phones emit electromagnetic radiation. This is required to make and receive calls. Although the emissions are low-power and short range, long-term exposure to these has many harmful effects. With the advancements in mobile technology and inconclusive research evidence to debunk the myths and warn us about the dangers, it is crucial to minimize the radiation we are subjecting ourselves to, on a daily basis. Here is a list of the ill effects of mobile radiation.

I THINK THAT...

In the present study, the studied population was of both sexes with an average age of 35 years; therefore, this shows the importance of the issue. These persons have high performance in communities, so their illness increases the burden of the disease.
