HISTORY OF OTTOMAN EMPIRE

This week, I hope to talk about the Ottoman Empire in a blog post. The Ottoman Empire was not only political or social but also cultural and it existed for over six centuries. In these few paragraphs, let us trace one of the great empires in history.

13th century saw the foundation of the Ottoman Empire which eventually turned out to be a global superpower whose influence spanned territories ranging from Southeast Europe through North Africa passing across the Middle East. When at its peak, this empire was famous for being very tolerant and had become a multicultural society that celebrated diversity.

The system of governance that existed within the Ottomans is another aspect that makes their history remarkable. Through an evolving network of officials, they concentrated and decentralized power concurrently. This arrangement allowed them to coexist with more than one ethnicity, as well as religions and languages within its borders.

As elsewhere, a lot can be said about Ottoman culture. Its artistic achievements are still talked about even today as people remain captivated by them both visually and emotionally. From its grand architecture such as Topkapi Palace to stunning patterns on pottery and cloth, Ottoman creativity left no stone unturned when it came to matters aesthetics.

No discussion about global trade and commerce can be complete without mentioning what the Ottoman Empire did. It was situated where there were many trade routes between East-West relations; hence; worldwide prosperity due to trade ensued.

Even though it eventually declined overtime, some aspects of the empire continue living up to now. As far back as hundreds of years ago this empire has continued influencing politics and art exchange among others around us today till day.

You are warmly invited to join me in an occasion where we will discuss many facets surrounding history concerning this notable empire known as “Ottomans”.

I do hope you found this post interestingly informative or inspiring. Keep checking for other fascinating historical journeys!
